Today the EU Commission has published the long-awaited RTS on homogeneity. In addition to the well-known elements "similar underwriting standards" and "similar servicing standards", this final report points out that the "asset types" listed in the RTS are not an exhaustive list. Financial innovations should also not be impeded if they can meet the homogeneity requirements.
Not all asset types must meet the homogeneity factor
One of the RTS's important clarifications on homogeneity states that not all asset types necessarily have to fulfil a homogeneity factor, since some asset types are sufficiently homogeneous in themselves. These include trade receivables and consumer loans.
