BIS Releases Working Paper on Monetary Policy and Financial Stability

The Bank for International Settlements' Monetary and Economic Department released a working paper entitled "A Quantitative Case for Leaning Against the Wind." The authors find that leaning systematically over the whole financial cycle is found to outperform policies of “benign neglect” and “late-in-the-cycle” discretionary interventions.
