Securitised Products at UniCredit

UniCredit is an expert in structured products based on securitisation techniques. The Securitised Products Team, which is part of the Corporate & Investment Banking division, structures and places transactions for corporate clients and financial institutions in the core markets of UniCredit as well as for UniCredit.

The business model of Securitised Products for corporate clients is geared towards international and national companies, and satisfies their needs with tailored solutions. Securitised products allow UniCredit’s clients to increase liquidity, achieve favourable financing conditions, diversify their funding sources, enhance their working capital and manage risk.

UniCredit has developed and implemented a series of successful securitisation platforms, thereby demonstrating its leading expertise in true sale and synthetic securitisation in Europe:

  • Nine deals have now been structured and placed as part of UniCredit's Geldilux programme, bringing the total volume of all issues under this European benchmark programme to EUR 18.9 bn.
  • Since 2007, one large corporate transaction and two SME transactions amounting to a total volume of EUR 11.8 bn have been concluded via the European platform "EuroConnect" for synthetic multi-originator transactions.
  • As one of the leading sponsors of ABCP programmes, UniCredit is active on the European and American market with the multi-seller programme Arabella Finance, current outstanding volume is at approx. EUR 4 bn in a growing mode.

In southern Europe, UniCredit has already carried out more than 63 transactions with a total volume of over EUR 100 bn. With its innovative programmes, UniCredit has a strong influence in the securitisation market, particularly in Italy. Cordusio SME is, for example, the first synthetic SME securitisation in Italy. With the Cordusio RMBS Programme, UniCredit operates the largest mortgage securitisation platform in Italy, and with Locat SV, one of the biggest easing securitisation platforms in Europe.

In Eastern Europe, UniCredit is market leader in ABS. To date, two transactions have been concluded in the Czech Republic and Poland, and ten in Russia.
