Citigroup – securitisation business

For years, Citigroup has been one of the leading banks for securitisation transactions in Europe. Citigroup received the IFR award "Securitisation House of the Year" in 2003 and "European Securitisation House of the Year" in 2004. Last year, Citigroup acted as a book runner for transactions totalling more than 30 billion Euro in Europe and thus heads the European securitisation transaction rankings*. Citigroup's leading position in the securitisation market is based on its extensive and long standing experience in structuring, trading and selling asset backed securities. A German speaking team of securitisation professionals focuses on the German securitisation market where Citigroup has been involved in many "true sale" and "synthetic" securitisation transactions (e.g. VCL 7 (VW), Promise Color 2003-1 (HypoVereinsbank), Marlin (EMC-II), Pure 2004 (HSH Nordbank), Opera (Eurohypo) and Tenovis Finance Ltd (Tenovis)).

Citigroup offers the entire range of securitisation services and has extensive expertise in the following areas

  • "True Sale" and "synthetic securitisations"

    • Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (securitisation of residential property loans)
    • Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (securitisation of loans used for financing commercial properties)
